950 Alder Apartments

Location:
On the quieter side of campus (by less frats where most apartment housing is), sharing a parking lot with the warm aroma of the Pancake House and the Bushnell College dorms, rests this charming, 5-floor apartment. It is easily a 10 minute...
walk from most classes on campus, making the walk home, which largely goes through security-camera guarded Bushnell campus, at night short and safe. Looking on the other side (away from campus), it is 2 minute run from the Willamette River trails and 15 minute walk to Autzen Bridge (meaning you have a prime spot for sporting events in the Fall!)

Getting In:
If you drive up to the apartment, you will likely notice the Bushnell security officers who patrol the area 24/7 to ensure the utmost safety for its residents and ours. Our front door is always well lit and unlocked via code and key fob, making entrance easy for residents and not for others. All other entrances are locked via key fob, including that to get into the garage and bike room. You need a garage door opener to get into the garage. The door from the garage to the elevator is also locked via code. The elevator rests naturally on the ground floor and is wrapped in a lovely forest theme, making the ride up pleasant and quick (though it is technically faster to take the stairs). On ground floor, each unit is assigned a mailbox. Packages are usually delivered on top of the mailboxes, and people really do respect it (I have never experienced nor heard of a stollen package). Each floor has only 8 separate units, which creates a supportive and friendly community. Every unit is dead bolted for maximum security/peace of mind, though I have truly never felt unsafe going to or in my apartment. Additionally, every bedroom within the apartment has a deadbolt on the door, securing personal space and also peace of mind.

Amenities:
The apartment contains a small gym on the second floor, which has great potential to be used. It also has a game room/tv room on the base floor, which is a great spot to have larger gatherings. Our unit is equipped with vaulted ceilings (because we are the top floor), its own washer and dryer (in a spacious closet), dishwasher, stovetop, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, AC (in each room), personal bathrooms, and walk out balcony. We have not had any issues with the amenities and have lived here almost a year now. There is carpet (which you can tell is cleaned) in every space except the kitchen and bathrooms. Each unit is given one parking spot in the garage, which my roommate holds, but you are also allowed to join the waitlist, which I did this past year and got a spot about about a month. There is a decent amount of paid street parking available (good for guests) and also multiple parking lots within a 5 minute walk (that a lot of students utilize with good reviews).

Since my roommates and I have lived here for a year, signing would also mean you have access to our shared amenities: Ninja Creamy ice cream maker, rice cooker, air fryer, toaster oven, extra mini fridge/freezer, water boiler, kitchen table, couch/coffee tables, tv/most streaming services (since we all share), balcony table/chairs. We have enjoyed a neutral pallet in the common room (largely deep woods, gold, black, blue, and white). My room (your room) has a queen sized bed with a styled metal frame; a desk and chair; a reading chair; and an ottoman (for extra storage). The room consists of a bedroom, bathroom, and decent sized closet. It is the only room that has vaulted ceilings, which I have absolutely loved. I have a window that is south facing, which has been really nice, not only for bringing in an optimum amount of sunlight (especially handy in the Fall/Winter) but also for growing my plant collection:) It's really a great place!
