Peaceful Forest Retreat House (Shared Housing)

While completing my graduate degrees at the UofO and experiencing what some of my cohort were going through living in the city, my family decided to open our home to fellow graduate students. We have a large house outside of the city but close (12... minute drive) to campus.

We are a family home (myself, wife, kiddo(10), Oso (our pup) and Zelda(our cat). We have dedicated the bottom floor to housing fellow students. We have three rooms set aside for students. Two rooms are available (one of the rooms available is pictured up on the right). Each room has a bed, dresser and small desk and task chair. The bottom floor also houses a cozy media/reading room, kitchenette/shop-studio and laundry.

After the ice storm last year, we were obligated to harvest the damaged timber on the property. We still have a forest vibe, but are in the midst of cleaning up. I say this because the pictures still show all of trees. We have replaced them with beautiful filtered views of the valley. 😊

Our goal is to provide a family type atmosphere and allow spaces that you can retreat to for work/privacy. We don’t have cable or satellite and love the retreat feeling we have up here in the woods. We are not partyers but will host family and such at times. We are quiet, except for the rambunctiousness of our ten year old…

This is a non-smoking property. Room rent is $500/mo. This includes internet and utilities. We also collect a $500 security/cleaning deposit.

NOTE: The property is not walk-able or bike-able to the university and there is no transit available close.

The rooms will be available March 28th. Since we are close to summer, we are only asking for a three-month lease (spring term.) We can sort out an agreement if you would like a longer term.
